USC Student Life’s purpose is student success and is reflected in every facet of our work. The organization serves the university mission by promoting the holistic well-being necessary for students’ success and fostering student development throughout the university. Our work includes four priorities essential to achieving and promoting success for every student.
- Support and Well-being – Central to the success of students is their well-being. Recognizing that well-being exists at the intersection of health, equity, and sustainability, we seek to develop structures and resources that support flourishing in each of these areas.
- Personal and Identity Development – Personal and identity development of all USC students is the cornerstone for personal growth and preparation for future endeavors. Student Life staff challenge and support students to grow as individuals, scholars, professionals, and leaders.
- Engagement and Leadership – Student Life staff approach their work from a student development perspective, establishing support structures that assist students in actively pursuing their interests and goals.
- Inclusion and Community – Establishing a sense of belonging is a fundamental task for student success. Student Life embraces an inclusive spirit and creates opportunities for diverse student communities, from all academic levels, to connect with each other in an engaging and supportive environment.
